Mentor Me… But Don’t Tell Me What to Do
What happens when a mentee shows up, yet quietly resists the mentoring process?
In this 60-minute session, Debby Spaltmann unpacks a common but rarely discussed challenge in mentoring: the paradox of help-resistance. Drawing on her expertise in leadership communication and the Authentic Leadership model, Debby guides us through the emotional, psychological, and relational terrain of mentoring someone who is present but not fully engaged.
The session will include storytelling, practical frameworks, and evidence-based strategies to help mentors stay grounded, responsive, and effective, even when their guidance is subtly deflected or ignored.
Debby will speak for approximately 40 minutes, followed by an interactive Q&A and discussion designed to foster reflection and insight among peers.
